As Mirjam reseached her own roots and therewith her ancestors, she followed her fathers' family tree (Offringa) and her mothers' (Spandaw) as well. That's how she found the way these last names were written at first: Offringha (1550) and Spandov (around 1300). However the roots of her father stays in the Northern part of the Netherlands (and earlier probably Scandinavia), the roots of her mothers' side leads her to Eastern Europe and probably further. It made her decide to use the first written last names as 'brand' and statement. Because it shows that the word 'national' is without meaning, as long our genes show us that once we were immigrants.
